The Benefits of Search EnginesThe search engine is perhaps the fastest information medium available to the public. Its ability to find websites across the internet and bring users to the relevant pages is phenomenal. Search engines have revolutionised the way we find information and it has made knowledge that was perhaps inaccessible to some, straightforward and simple and it is easily found using keywords. When using search engines we are often taken to sites that we did not expect to find. If we are shopping around for a product, we may have some sites that we would expect to find. However, the search engines enable us to be exposed to other sites that are possibly cheaper and offer a better service. By doing this search engines give customers a wider variety of products, services and companies to choose from. However, we can see a trend in the way people are directed to sites. Typically the first page of search results gets the most site hits. If you searched for HD Television you would see a list of suppliers who match the keywords best. There would usually be the big suppliers who have used their larger product range and existing image to get to the top. Most of the customers will be using these suppliers on the top few results and competition for the first page is tough. However, we often see smaller suppliers or less well known brands and companies making it onto the first page. More often than not this is how an internet business becomes a huge success and a new internet name is born. So how do these companies achieve search engine ranking improvement and what tactics have they used to fight their way to the top results? By working hard at optimising the website to rank better on the search engines' results it is possible to achieve a better placement. Google have said that on their search engine an important factor in the rankings system is links to the site itself. By creating links to the site from other ‘popular’ sites you can improve your site ranking. A large amount or greater density of Keywords is also attributed to better rankings as these are what are searched in the engines themselves. The links should also have regularly used keywords in them and it should relate to the subject matter of the site. | Recent ArticlesAbout Search Engine OptimisationThe Benefits of Search EnginesWeb Design And SEO SpecialistsThe Importance of Search Engine OptimisationSelling Websites for ProfitThe Basics of Search Engine OptimisationHow to Select a Qualified Website Designer for Property WebsitesBusiness BloggingWebsite Design: the New Way Forward for CompaniesUsing SEO to Find Important Products OnlineThe Amazing Manmade Creation of Web DesignUsing Search Engine Optimisation in Web DesignFree SEO Tips for Website DesignersSimple Tips to Increase SEOThe Importance of SEO to Website DesignWebsite Design and SEO |
